Wander through the
Beaches
Explore Florida's Anclote Key
There’s nothing like the feeling of your toes in the sand with the sound of ocean waves lapping against the shore. Slather on some sunscreen, and escape to your own beach paradise when you stay at Anclote River Resort, conveniently located between numerous beach options—each with their own distinct appeal and amenities.

“Numerous beach options—each with their own distinct appeal and amenities.”
Stroll over to adjacent Anclote River Park, where you’ll find a 300-foot swim beach shaded with swaying palm trees. Play a game of volleyball or horseshoes, and see if you can spot dolphins, fish, sea turtles, and crabs. This park is also part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, known for its abundance of bird species, so bring your binoculars. Playgrounds and picnic areas make this an ideal gathering place for the whole family.
For a more bustling beach scene, take the resort shuttle to nearby Fred Howard Park, where a sprawling white-sand beach, picnic shelters, playgrounds, ball field, wind surfing area, fishing area, boat launches, and beach showers offer all the attractions and amenities your family could want for both relaxation and recreation.
Looking to enjoy some sand and sunshine without the crowds? Go on an adventure to pristine, undeveloped beaches when you kayak or take a ferry to Anclote Key Preserve State Park, just 3 miles off the coast of Tarpon Springs. Lay out your beach towel to read and sunbathe, fire up the grill to enjoy lunch al fresco, keep an eye out for more than 43 species of birds, and stroll to the 1887 lighthouse for picturesque views. Surrounded by blue-green waters as far as the eye can see, this is a true sandbar experience for an unforgettable beach vacation. No provisions are offered on the island, so be sure to grab some water, snacks, and supplies at the resort before you go.
Before hitting the beach, talk with your Wanderful Concierge Specialist for the ultimate menu of beach amenities. Pick up beach towels and shade umbrellas, or make a day of it with kites, lawn games, and sandcastle kits. Our onsite restaurants can pack a cooler with refreshing drinks and a picnic, so all you have to bring is your swimsuit and favorite pair of sunglasses.
